Irish Horse Welfare Trust

The farm came with some buildings suitable for the caring of horses. The funds were secured through fundraising from all sections of the Irish horse racing industry, plus a bank loan of 800,000 euro. The fund raising committee includes Jessica Harrington, Jane Mysersccough, and representatives from HRI, ITBA, and Wetherbys. I became involved because Moscow Flyer is the mascot of the IHWT and visits shows and other events to help with their fundraising. Members of the Irish Bookmakers' Association have contributed a lot of money to this deserving cause. It is hoped that more members will contribute, as the need for the services of the IHWT is growing, with the downturn in the economy.
